Phonebanking for GA 175 Special Election and others: LCDP Monthly Meeting 2018-02-05

In the middle of early voting for the special election for Georgia Statehouse District 175, we will phonebank at the party office.

Turnout is usually low in special elections, so if we can get Democrats to go vote, we win. So far there’s one Democrat running for GA 175: Dr. Treva Gear.

Lisa Ring for District 1 (including Moody AFB and a bit of Lowndes County)

All three of these candidates have spoken at LCDP meetings. There are other Democrats running for other offices.

Candidates at Monthly Meeting 2017-10-02

Come out to hear and meet the candidates face-to-face. Many of them already spoke at the annual LCDP BBQ in July and at the AAUW Candidate Forum in September, and you can see the videos of those first, if you like. Then come and hear, see, ask questions, and offer to help a Democrat get elected.

Municipal Qualifying at LCDP Monthly Meeting 2017-08-07

Videos: Transportation at Monthly Meeting 2017-05-01

The Lowndes County Democratic Party is a strong advocate for a public transportation system in Lowndes County. At our May, 2017, meeting, we hosted Corey Hull, of the Valdosta-Lowndes Metroplitan Planning Organization (VLMPO) and person most responsible for doing the legwork to move this issue forward. Things are slowly moving forward, but it still needs citizen support and input to our local politicians that have the ultimate say whether or not we will have public transportation in Lowndes County.

Videos: Thank our Teachers, Committees, and Monthly Meeting 2017-04-03

The next monthly LCDP meeting is 6PM Today, Monday May 1, 2017. Here is video of the previous meeting.

The “Thank Our Teachers” signs were first available at the April monthly meeting, as approved by the Lowndes County Democratic Committee (LCDC) at the end of March. The LCDC (essentially the board of directors for the LCDP) also formalized subcommittees on Education, Environment, Public Relations, and Finance, which were also discussed at the April meeting, as you can see in this video.

And the LCDC approved a new resolution against the Sabal Trail fracked methane pipeline and for solar power which was handed out at the April meeting.
