Phonebanking for GA 175 Special Election and others: LCDP Monthly Meeting 2018-02-05

In the middle of early voting for the special election for Georgia Statehouse District 175, we will phonebank at the party office.

Turnout is usually low in special elections, so if we can get Democrats to go vote, we win. So far there’s one Democrat running for GA 175: Dr. Treva Gear.

When: 6PM Monday, February 5, 2018

Where: Lowndes County Deocratic Party Office
1008 Slater Street, Valdosta, GA 31601-3937

There are also Democrats running for Congress:

All three of these candidates have spoken at LCDP meetings. There are other Democrats running for other offices.

Videos: LCDP BBQ 2017-07-06

Lowndes County Democratic Party meetings are always informative and even inspiring. In May, we had Corey Hull, of the Valdosta-Lowndes Metroplitan Planning Organization (VLMPO), who updated us on public transportation.

At our July Annual BBQ we were joined by a number of local Democratic candidates who shared with us why they were running for office. We were also joined by Sarah Todd, Democratic Party of Georgia Vice Chair for County Parties, and Claudia Collier, Democratic Party of Georgia Greening Chair. You’ve already seen a few pictures from the BBQ. Here are videos from that fine day, July 6, 2017.

Things are slowly moving forward, but it still needs citizen support and input to our local politicians that have the ultimate say whether or not we will have public transportation in Lowndes County.

We must continue to lobby our local officials in favor of Continue reading
