Where can you vote on Tuesday May 20th, which is Election Day for the Special Election for Lowndes County Commission District 5, for the Lowndes County Board of Education, and for the elections for judges? Remember, they’re not in November: Tuesday May 20th is the election for these races, unless there’s a runoff. Plus Tuesday is Primary Election Day for the Georgia statehouse, statewide offices, and U.S. Congress. You can find your polling place in My Voter Page by the Georgia Secretary of State. Or you can zoom and pan on the VALOR GIS Election Boundary Map. Turnout matters: elections are often won by a handful of votes. After you find your polling place, please call your friends and neighbors and help them find theirs. For a longer list to call, contact Gretchen.
Turnout is at 4% so far, with the other party voting twice as many in early voting. Call your friends. Contact Gretchen; she’ll get you a call list. Contact a candidate; they’ll get you a walklist. Local elections affect you directly: water, sewer, trash, roads, education, taxes, and laws. It’s time to get people out and vote!
