Videos: Ride the Big Blue Wave at LCDP BBQ 2018-07-02

A much larger crowd this year than the previous two years listened to Democratic candidates for local and most state offices, as well as for Congress, at the annual LCDP BBQ at Mathis Auditorium, July 2, 2018, as you can see in these videos.

After a delicious BBQ dinner prepared by Big Nick’s, the crowd was galvanized by an excellent array of speeches from local and state candidates and elected officials. It was a terrific and inspiring evening! —Haley Hyatt

The Lowndes County Democratic Party is about candidates and voting. There’s an election going on, so it’s time to pick a candidate and support them, and get yourself and others out to vote.

None of the candidates for State School Superintendent spoke at the LCDP BBQ, but there’s a Democratic runoff for that office this Tuesday, July 24, 2018, and candidate Otha Thornton did speak back in May at the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber Candidates Forum.

Candidates: yes, you may use these videos, each whole or in part, in your campaigns. Just cite the source: Lowndes County Democratic Party.

The next LCDP meeting is the Lowndes County Democratic Caucus with election of Lowndes County Democratic Committee members; basically the board of directors of LCDP.

Party business doesn’t stop after the monthly meeting adjourns. There are candidates to elect, issues to air, and bills to pay. A few officers or committee members can’t do it alone. You are the party, so you can help.

You can become an LCDP member or renew today to help elect Democrats!
