Super District 4 Town Hall Meeting

Demarcus Marshall Demarcus Marshall is holding a Town Hall for his superdistrict 4 (east side) and all of Lowndes County, 6PM 15 December 2015 at the Lowndes County Civic Center, 2102 E Hill Ave., Valdosta, GA 31601. He says:

I want to personally thank the citizens of Super District 4 for your continued support in representing you and the districts’ best interest. It has truly been an honor to serve you. As with last year, I want to have a town hall meeting to solicit feedback, ideas, complaints, and concerns of county services provided in the district and even countywide. This is your opportunity to be heard and have a direct conversation regarding the district. I intend on providing a State of the District address; after which, I will open the floor for dialogue.

Animal Rights Forum: what about that tethering ordinance? 2015-12-07

Please join us for a public meeting about the issue of animal rights and animal welfare on Monday, December 7 at 6:00 pm. Facebook event.

Tethered dog Dr. Amanda Hall says:

“The manner in which we care for our pets is a measure of the quality of our community as a whole. A community that tolerates animal cruelty and neglect is one that tolerates low standards throughout the community.”

Our guest panel speakers will include:

  • Dr. Amanda Hall from Baytree Animal Hospital,
  • Dr. Tom Aiello from the VSU History Department,
  • Ashlie Prain from the VSU Anthropology Club,
  • and Michelle Williams from the Pixel Fund Rescue.

Lowndes County has been invited to send a speaker about the animal shelter, but has not yet responded.

The meeting will take place at Mama June’s restaurant at 3286 Inner Perimeter Road. You do not need to purchase food to join in the discussion.
