Environmental issues and property rights @ LCDP 2015-06-01

Many things affect the local environment: paving roads, buses, pipelines, wastewater, and solid waste. Abundant clean water is a major reason all of us are here. Like transportation, environmental issues have come up at several previous LCDP meetings, often also including property rights: roads and pipelines go through somebody’s land, and blowing trash or flooding wastewater affect many people’s property, taxes, and quality of life. Facebook event.

6PM Monday June 1st, come hear from people who deal with these issues all the time, and speak up with your own questions and ideas, at the monthly Lowndes County Democratic Party meeting.

Our meeting location is the Lowndes County Board of Elections office at 2808 North Oak Street from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. We would appreciate if you could bring a dish, but you do not need to bring food to join in.

There will be candidates for office: Continue reading

See the special crime report: the real situation is not what you would think from TV.

Transportation was so popular a topic both in April and at the March meeting, it’s the main theme of the Monday May 4th meeting tomorrow.

Here’s the invitation to last month’s April meeting: Continue reading
