We are drawing close to the busiest time of the year. Election season is upon us. We will hear from State Representative Dexter Sharper on upcoming legislative schedule (he is unopposed this year), early voting, GOTV events and more.
And Valdosta City Councilwoman Sandra Tooley will talk to us about her first year in office. Our elected officials can give us special insights into how we can help to get out the vote and elect those who represent our entire community.
We will also hear about local GOTV events, phone banks, and more. If you ever thought of being involved in the Democratic process, now is the time.
Saturday & Sunday Voting
Where: Board of Elections
Address: 2808 North Oak St. Valdosta
Date: Saturday – October 25, 2014 (9-4)
Date: Sunday – October 26, 2014 (12-5)
Lowndes County will have two weekend days of voting this election term. Early voting is from October 13-31 with the weekend of October 25-26 included. There is ample time and availability and it is important that everyone exercise their right to vote.
Please spread the word that voting will be available on both Saturday – October 25, 2014 and Sunday – October 26, 2014.
Lowndes County has Democratic Candidates of our own who could use your support. Bikram Mohanty is running for Senate District 8 and Tom Hochschild is running for County Commission District 3. Anything you can do to help these Democrats in winnable races will be appreciated. They need your time, your money and most importantly your vote. For more information visit
Both Dexter Sharper (GA House 177) and Demarcus Marshall (Commission District 4) are unopposed.
