The qualifying season is over and it has been a lively one. The extended qualifying for Lowndes County Board of Commissioners District Three yielded three additional candidates for a total of four.

The qualifying for the special election to fill the unexpired term in County Commission District 5 also yielded four candidates but one withdrew before qualifying even closed.
District 5 is a non-partisan election because it is a special election.
